Emily Ann Ingham

i found out i was pregnant in feb 08 and was exticed to tell my partner i was expecting he smiled
from ear to ear, made so special as she was my birthday baby.
i had a few scares bleeding but everytime emily was sitting there heartbeating... then the worst
thing happened on 26th june i woke up blood everywhere rushed to hospital and was told my waters had
gone i had no idea what this mean't.. i was 22weeks and 6 days i was transfered to a bigger hospital
given 2 lots of steriods to strength emilys lungs and told the next 72 hours were the time she
probarly make her appearance, we were told she had a 50-50 chance i cried for days we been though so
much and so had emily but she had better ideas after 3 more scares of blood loss and 10 more scan to
check fluid level and her growth.. last one the 26th aug i was admitted had a scan on the 27th
showing emily holding her foot we were told she was only 3lb 4 oz, then on the night i was seen by a
consulant who said they were keeping me in till emily was born as i was 32 weeks i knew it could be
at most 5 weeks as they were not going to allow me to go past 37 week..
that night have my normal montioring and my partner leaving for night i was aching but emily always
lay heavy on my right side putting her feet under my ribs so i thought it was just this again..after
pain killers i was ran a bath to try help but as i was in bath midwife checked me over and said i
was in labour i was so scared..phone my partner who rushed to my side doctor checked me said i was
not dilating but was in labour as emily was breech it would be a c section 40 mins later i was taken
in for c section checked by doctor and i was fully dilated, i was given spinal block and 10 mins
later emily was born bum frist then took her straight away her daddy got to see her he said she had
a full head of hair red like me..we were seen a hour later to tell us emily was going to be
transfered for better care.. 2 hours later nothing i was thinking alsort people saying try get some
sleep how could i!!
then my worst nightmare happened i was told they couldn't transfer emily she would die on way..her
blood pressure was down and they could get it up and her lungs were too small from having no water
for so long and her sats were dropping so i was given mophine to enable me to get out of bed to see
my daughter..i was taken to special care to see my daughter for frist time.. emily was baptised and
all machines taken from her.. passed over to myself, i never forget that moment as she was passed
over she opened her lil eye looked at me and her daddy and shut it and went to sleep forever out of
pain and at peace.. we were able to spend a lot of time with emily this enabled us to get 150+
pictures which i will treasure for the rest of my live.. emily lived for 7 hours and was 3lb 13.5oz
16 inches long she was born at 32weeks 1 day..rip my darling emily mammy and daddy love you forever
